Poison and potions! Converted!

Poison and potions!

I ordered these really fun labels from Vanessa at http://afancifultwist.typepad.com/a_fanciful_twist/2009/09/potions-and-spells-and-cards-oh-my.html and yesterday when one of my goblins claimed her cough was just too much for school (not really but I let it go this time)got out our containers and started concocting our version of Halloween! Eye of Newt, from our small banty chicken eggs and pickle juice! Ear of troll, dried pumpkin patch leaves. Magic Spell, pink food color, keys, glitter and pink birthday candles! Thanks, Vanessa for kicking off a creative and spooky afternoon!!

More old doors!

Downstairs doors!!

Old doors, patient carpenter!

I was reading at the lettered cottage, http://www.theletteredcottage.net/, that Layla wanted to replace her doors with windowed doors, old ones! Guess what? I did! I had been collecting old doors for years, much to my husbands dismay. Old wooden doors are HEAVY! Then when we renovated this old ranch I wanted to take it back in time as far as I could! So with my old doors in tow and a very patient carpenter, in they went, one by one. A total of 8 are installed with just two left to go. Here are the upstairs doors.

Like seeing a ship come in!!

Sometimes my kids make me laugh! My oldest daughter Cloie had a babysitting job for a soon to turn 3 year old this week end. All was fine until bed time, then in the course of 2 hours, said child had al least 3 fits, 2 time outs, 3 location changes and finally passed out naked in her parents bed! Fifteen minutes later the phone rings and it is the mother saying they are on their way home. Cloie says, "Mom it was like being stranded on a desert island and then finally seeing a ship come in!" Laughed my head off!!
